This project is meant to help pre-school aged kids learn the primary colors in an exciting, encouraging, and relevant way.
Beginning with a needs analysis, various concepts and gameplay variations were explored. The monster theme was landed on but needed to be presented in a non-scary or threatening way. In addition, preschoolers can’t read, so it was imperative to have secondary navigation and directions available, including visual and audio cues as part of the User Experience and User Interface design. Luckily, I have a 4 and a 5 year old at home so running quick usability tests was easy!
My favorite part of the project was the voice recording. The kids and I had a lot of fun playing with the Voice Changer App and recording a lot of variations. After they played the game, they were walking around the house talking in their very own monster voices for days.
