Project Summary

Mark The Immediate Gospel is Hardcover book cover with which I had the pleasure to work with ONEFamily Outreach on. I had about a week to concept, create roughs, finalize and preflight in order to have it ready in time for a trade show. I was supplied the magnificent lion artwork to work with which was done by Amanda Goebel. The primary goal was to let the highly symbolic art make an immediate impact. The size of the image, paired with the crop and the contrast with the white background were intentional to help with this goal.

This Kinetic Typography video was a pet project that I started as a companion marketing piece for ProfessorsChoice.com, a website where college professors can compile their own custom textbooks. What began as a “wouldn’t it be cool if…” idea in my head, quickly gained steam with the Professor’s Choice team and has evolved into the finished piece.

Old Testament Companion

Old Testament Companion

Project Summary

The Old Testament Companion is an interactive CD that steps a High School kid through select passages in the Bible. Not only can they read the passages, but can do one of three interactive activities to help them put what they have learned into practice. The concept of this project was to bring some of the old world into a new digital media. We also tried to bring in an element of gaming, and the feel of some top MMORPG’s to help the kids  be more attracted to the product. We wanted to make learning fun for the kids, as well as offer some online conveniences such as emailing reflection questions and results of quizzes directly to the teacher and/or parent.

Project Summary

In Da Hood Backpacks is a cutting edge company that has combined the ipod, hoodies, and backpacks into one new-to-the-world-product. They were looking for a logo as edgy as the teens who would use their new backpack. The logo design is a balance between urban graffiti, crisp lines, and the appearance of organic movement. It was designed to be able to meet all print branding needs, but also to be re-purposed into new modern digital media such as online video. This was important 1. because most of the target In Da Hood customers can be found online and 2. the unique selling point of their product is enabling the consumption of digital media.

Project Summary

The Catholic Youth Prayer Book is a collection of prayers and readings for students to use to deepen their faith. It was designed to be very mature and traditional, warm, and comfortable. The cover of the book was specifically designed in a foil stamped soft leather which ensures both comfort and flexibility, while an o-wrap was designed to protect the book on the shelf and during delivery.

Project Summary

The 9th Grade Survival Guide is book for 8th graders who are getting ready to enter High School. The vision of this book was to give it a real “user’s guide” and “how-to” look and feel. We also wanted it to have a “used” feel to add a dimension of reliability and authenticity to the book.

Great Catholic Writings is compilation of reflections and stories by many famous authors. The book is focused on helping High School students to see the world differently. The goal of this project was to make the book warm and accessible, while maintaining a very traditional “old world” feeling. This feel was to honor the content and portray the maturity in which the writings are spoken.

Project Summary

The logo for Click2Live was designed to help raise awareness of the importance of seat belt safety. The logo has been used on websites, racing jerseys, and window clings. It’s a great cause so join the movement here. Be sure to request some window clings from John to pass out to your loved ones – they are free.
